Part 1WHO IS HOLY SPIRIT?
GOD’s Personal Presence, in Hebrew is known as Rauch meaning air, wind, or breath. All having in common invisible energy. Holy Spirit is divine.
The third part of what Christians refer to the Trinity, the Godhead (Father, Son, & Holy Spirit). Holy Spirit is equal to GOD and Jesus. You will find Holy Spirit first appears in Genesis 1:2 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Though invisible we refer to Holy Spirit as a person, never a thing or influence. Holy Spirit lives (dwells) inside of us once we give our life to Christ. Holy Spirit has feelings that is why we are told not to quench Him, despise Him, grieve Him, or blaspheme Him.
Holy Spirit is given names such as “Spirit of God, the “Spirit of Jesus,” the “Spirit of Christ,” and the “Spirit of truth.” Jesus referred to Him as “another Comforter,” and the “Helper.” We must learn to honor Holy Spirit and surrender our lives to Him to have a relationship with GOD the Father and Jesus the Son. PURPOSE OF HOLY SPIRIT
As put by Joseph Chambers, the head of Paw Creek Ministries, The Father is the eternal mind, the Son of God is the eternal Word, and the Holy Spirit is the eternal manifestation. Holy Spirit is here to help guide us so that there will be manifestations. Holy Spirit knows our roadmap, we may not know where we are going but Holy Spirit differently does. He is in direct contact with the Father. Holy Spirit is a doer, not something or someone who is supposed to stay dormant. He is to be activated and active in our life. One of His purposes is to be a Helper and advocate, He brings and gives wise counsel to those who are following Jesus Christ.
Holy Spirit is a comforter, when sadness, sorrow, uncertainty, fear overwhelm us, we can ask that we be comforted, feel the arms of Holy Spirit to keep us safe, and give us reassurance When you feel stuck, too tired or not knowing what to pray, Holy Spirit can step in and give you exactly what it is you need to pray about, so that you are not sounding like that Pharisee doing repetitious pray. Holy Spirit is our connection back into the Spiritual Realm.
Another purpose is Holy Spirit guiding us to Truth, especially with the internet we are bombarded with so much information. Ask Holy Spirit to filter through all of that and show you what is the truth. The things that will help you walk and live a kingdom life that will bring peace and joy. He ways fact against the truth. Bringing us into our Truth the Word of GOD.
He brings spiritual gifts as well as other gifts. Holy Spirit knows our talents and our gifts given us, He knows our passions, things that will make us thrive. We do not have to look to society to be a copycat or getting into an area that does not come naturally to us. Holy Spirit gives you desire to live your life according to Christ to live a life where there is eternal life, knowing there is more after this life. Holy Spirit gives Wisdom, Revelation, and understanding. How we process things in this life can be attributed to the relationship we have with Holy Spirit. One thing Holy Spirit will do is never to lead you astray, where we find ourselves lost. He gives us the wisdom to do and know the things we must do versus what we should not do. He is great at bringing revelation where the light bulb comes on, new inventions, a new thought. Holy Spirit, if you let him bring understanding to a situation, a person. With the help of Holy Spirit, we can see things the way GOD sees a thing. Holy Spirit is to fill us. He brings power from above, He ready to fill us with the things of GOD. Letting the believer realize there is more in us, through Christ Jesus who strengthen us. REPRESENTATION OF HOLY SPIRIT
Holy Spirit never exalts himself only the Father and the Son (Jesus). He is part of the GOD head.
In the bible, Holy Spirit is represented as a Dove that came down upon Jesus when he was being baptized. The dove is a symbol of the Spirit of GOD. Reference to this can be found in Luke 3:22 Fire of Holy Spirit - when we think of fire, burning and light come to mind. As with fire, Holy Spirit brings us the light of GOD so that we can see our path, Holy Spirit tugs at our conscience. Acts 26:18 Holy Spirit is the one that stirs us from darkness to the light. Holy Spirit is the one that allows our heart to “burn” yearn the presence of the Father. In Psalm 39:3 the writer writes “My heart became hot within me. As I mused, the fire burned; then I spoke with my tongue”. Holy Spirit will receive the vibration of the followers of Christ Jesus. Also, the Holy Spirit is known to come with a consuming fire that can destroy the enemies of the LORD. This can be found in Revelation 20:15 and Jude 1:7 Water which references baptism. Cleansing power. In Ezekiel 36:25-27, NIV Holy Spirit or the Spirit GOD comes into our lives to cleanse our hearts from sin. Holy Spirit which Christ promised the believer to receive after His death represents that life-giving water that quenches our spiritual thirst as found in Revelation 22:17. Holy Spirit brings prosperity and satisfaction as in Isaiah 41:18 water is brought to barren places. Water is needed to survive, we are made up of 70% water, so we need water to survive, we need Holy Spirit to live as believers of Christ. Oil the anointing oil. Holy Spirit is known as oil that does the work in our lives. The Oil can give discernment the sense of right or wrong. The olive oil that gives savory to food is likened to Holy Spirit savory us for the good works of Christ. I Samuel 16:13 David was anointed with oil, for GOD has chosen him to be the next king. The oil brings change just as you cook food in oil it gives it a flavor that is different than water or plain. We see this in Acts 13:9 when Saul was changed when he was filled with the Holy Spirit, this changed also represented the change in Saul to Paul. Wind or Breath in Acts 2:2 it shows that Holy Spirit came like a rushing wind. We may not see Holy Spirit with the naked eye, but we can feel Him like wind. Like wind, Holy Spirit changes the temperature of our being. Holy Spirit works and effects can be noticed in our lives just as wind there is a shaking in the natural, they are noticeable by the naked eye. Holy Spirit comes with movement not stagnant as the wind it always is blowing in movement. In Genesis 2:6-7, GOD breathe life in man, and he became a living soul. Holy Spirit is known as the Breath of GOD.
