How to Identify Holy Spirit Speaking

​​The Inner Knowing- Sometimes we hear a small voice or have an inner knowing of something that does not come from the flesh realm.   Many people equate it to intuition but this feeling of knowing comes from the Holy Spirit. It is something that does not allow us to ignore.  We can see this in operation in 1 Samuel 3: 9-10 when Samuel thought he heard Eli calling when it was Holy Spirit.

 
Word of GOD – Reading the Bible we can never go wrong with hearing the voice of Holy Spirit.  One thing is to read the bible with expectancy to hear from Holy Spirit.  When we read the word of GOD it seems that He leads us to scriptures or we get an understanding of the scripture on how it relates to our lives, be it we get answers or understanding.
 
Prophecies Many times GOD will send someone to give you a word.  A word that impacts your life, to give you directions.  Often these prophecies are a confirmation of what Holy Spirit already was talking to you about, but you ignored them.  Prophecies help your life and do not harm the lives of other believers
 
Dream & Vision To get our attention, Holy Spirit will speak to us through our dreams.  Unfortunately, many of us ignore our dream and think that it only comes from the flesh realm.   As followers of Jesus Christ, we must know what GOD has to say concerning dreams.  Dreams can have a great impact on our lives if only we investigate the meaning and understanding what Holy Spirit is trying to convey.  Our dreams can be a warning or revelational.  Dreams can give solutions to the problem, give insight into the situation, or warn us of danger.

Visions are known as more often used as an encounter with God where he imparts special revelation.    Holy Spirit speaks to us through our dreams, as noted in Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Holy Spirit is in You

​Transformation it is the function of Holy Spirit to transform us more into the image of Christ.   The transformation Holy Spirit comes with is not based on our own selfish needs but a transformation for us to bring the Kingdom of GOD to the earth.  Sometimes the change Holy Spirit brings we are not willing to let go of or make changes, but it is best to go with the leading of Holy Spirit. 
Growth in the Fruits of The Spirit - Holy Spirit makes us aware of the 9 fruits of the spirit which are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.  These can be found in Galatians 5:22-23.  I have found the benefits of these fruits are:

1.  I become less self-centered looking at the big picture
2. I have more control of emotions – I do not base my decision on my momentary emotion
3. More clarity my minds is in a better position to make healthy decisions

Understanding the Spirit gives You Gifts

​A lot of Christians go through life not knowing their purpose or why they are.  This is one thing Holy Spirit brings to us is our gift.  He desires that we bring our gift out to be used for the good of humanity.     There are Christians who thing the gifts are to be used in the four corners of a wall called a church, but the gifts of the Spirit can be found in the education, entertainment, government, family, economy, religion, and media sector of society.   When we allow ourselves to look deep within, we find there are passions that we long to do to help others and society.   Our gifts are tied in with our passion.
